Is there a need for epigenetic research in PTSD?

Yes. Researchers have found neuroepigenetic links, through the use of animal models and stress-enhanced fear learning, that indicate that there are novel genetic candidates in the treatment of PTSD. With further research these genetic candidates could be treated using neurotherapeutics.
